Silvercloud – Patterns Of Light

 21.15

It’s the beginning of Autumn in Iceland. Empty church by the lake. A piano in the middle of the hall and me, trying to channel the rain and storm, the darkness and the magic of this day, into music.

The fingers are sliding along the black and white keys, exploring the strangeness of how wood and hammers can animate the alchemy of sounds. Hours later, a melody is beginning to form. I let this song be born out of the storm, out of the fact that I can be here in this massive room all by myself, in complete, absolute, beautiful solitude.

In some way, I want this music to become a little thread that connects me with this room, through space and time, through the years and through the distance that separates me from all of you. I want this to be a reminder of what it’s like to be at this point in my life when magic is being woven into music right in front of me.

So, let us meet in this imaginary space that gave life to Patterns of Light. Join me there, in that church for a ghost concert when you’re ready and let the sounds transport you there with me.
